The takeoff was like a light 185 with a good wind. It never really gets on the step, just pulls up and off. Pretty impressive for such a big airplane

Makes you wonder if viking can really sell the multi-roll part of the 515 - non pressurised slow boat does not seem to be the answer compared to one that can go to 20,000 feet at 260 kts. It's interesting also to see that the Japanese have not sold very many units but I can only guess at the price. but the 515 has a hefty price tag as well.
