I don't think this does me any good even if I came into buying airplane money. I don't enjoy getting into the citabria. Having someone sitting beside me can't be better.

That 18 year old kid spokesman was super impressive. He has a great future in aviation.
Been a very very long time since I flew a Luscome. Neat aircraft, but a bit more squirrelly than a C120/140; if my old memory serves me. And it was aerobatic.
Taught new pilots how to manage energy.
This new one looks like a nice machine.

I spent a bunch of hours last summer largely sitting on my hands and occasionally stabbing a rudder pedal in a Luscombe and as a six and a half foot Sasquatch I was impressed that it was roomier than I expected. More comfortable to get in and out of than a 150 and it felt roomier inside too, though maybe that was the sticks not eating up as much space as yokes do. Nothing is as easy to get in and out of nor as roomy as the back seat of a Cub, though.

I didn’t fly very long with John Swallow in his nice little RV-6 before getting a slight sore shoulder from leaning on the lip beside me.
I would hop in one and see but I suspect if I was going to buy something I would look at one of those Bearhawk Patrols.

The RV7 has a roomier cockpit so you would probably be fine in one of those. All the RV’s are nice airplanes, although not for beginner aerobatic pilots.
I did my initial float rating almost 40 years again on a Luscombe, and found the aircraft a lot of fun to fly, although a bit of a challenge to get off the water. I have always wanted to fly one again on wheels but the opportunity has not presented itself yet.
I bet the new Luscombe with the light engine and prop would probably be a great little knock around float plane. It is unfortunate that TC still does not recognize the LSA category for Canadian registered aircraft

Now that I have flown a tandem I am even more convinced an 8 is the Vans I would most like to have access to.

There was a luscome in Red Lake when I started flying. It had a 135 hp lycoming and on floats it was a cracker. It was american registered so I have no idea how they were able to modify it. It was certified so there has to be an STC out there.
The downside was that someone left the ballast out of the tail when changed over to skis and it ended upside down after landing on sticky snow and 2 people upfront. Duh!!!! What a waist.

David: it was a Van's RV-7A that you and I 'rubbed shoulders' in.
The -10 is much roomier, but they are way expensive.
Possible an -8/8A would solve your shoulder problem..
