The above video states that Canada had the 4th largest air force in the world. Oh my, how times have changed.

Great video!

When 434 Sqn left Germany, it resurfaced in Cold Lake as a fighter/training squadron where I joined it in '69. We fed students to the CF 104 OTU (419 Sqn); the CF-5 was an excellent lead-in aircraft for the '104: students came to 419 knowing much more about about flight in high performance aircraft and their transition was much faster.

John

I heard a story about a light 104 on a very cold day going supersonic right after takeoff and while still inside the boundaries of CFB Cold Lake. Is it true ?

BPF: I never heard that story, but it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I tried to post the link but I could not get it to copy. If I flew airplanes the same way I work the computer I would have killed myself long ago
