Scud has given us the perfect forum to communicate without unnecessary moderating like other furms tend to have.

I see a lot of new members signing up, yet they do not post.

We have some of the most experienced pilots in aviation here and they are more than willing to answer questions that a lot of newer pilots may have.

So don't be shy about posting because you will be treated with respect and we will be happy to answer your questions with the best advice we can give.

The nice thing about not having moderators deciding who posts what is here if someone comes across as an asshole they will be treated like an asshole.  :) :) :)

So now that you are members lets hear from you.

Chuck, I must disagree with this thought.  In my view everyone who expresses an opinion gets shit on.  If you don't have many thousands of hours, don't fly ground level aerobatics and don't have lots of shiny airplanes, (shiny is the most important thing of course) than your opinion is utterly invalid.

Seemingly most threads, regardless of topic, devolve quickly to "Transport Canada is evil incarnate, they stole my stuff."  A prime example is the recent 'Ass Kissing' thread.  It went straight from "I don't kiss my company's ass" to "TC is EVIL" in three posts.  That and the pissing contests between members get old real fast.

Seriously why would anyone post anything here and go through the aggravation?  Yes this forum is un-moderated, but it has un-moderated and self-policed itself to a very dull place.

OK, now that I've expressed an opinion, I fully expect to get shit on.  That's fine.  I've been ready for some time to delete my profile, there hasn't been much here lately that keeps my interest.

I agree its a little sow here sometimes. But I enjoy reading some rants now and then, even if they are a familiar tune...

For myself, I seem to find most of these sites non-relevant for me as a lowish time IFR rated PPL. Im not flying jets, Im not flying areobatics, Im not an instructor... Im just some long-haired dude that burns a bunch of gas in an old thirsty twin for shits and giggles.

But I still read most of the posts and do learn something new now and then.

Gerry, please don't delete your profile. I am certain I am not the only one who values your contributions here even if I am the only one willing to say so.

I miss a few that used to post but left. I'm having a hard time remembering names, "Hiflychick" might be one?

I still feel if more people post and ask reasonable questions they will get reasonable answers.

As to getting shit on I guess that is the internet, some people will just be that way and if their comments are offensive then just ignore them.

By the way the Colonel does repeat himself but at least when he makes accusations against someone he obviously feels he can back up his allegations and he does not hide behind a made up name because everyone who cares to check can soon figure out his real name.

At this point I'm too new and dumb to know what I don't know, so I just lurk and learn through osmosis.

And now I'm off to fly around with the stall horn buzzing for an hour or so.

Again with that? Because people that are worried about talking to Internet bullies would be much more comfortable signing up under their real name? Sure I use my real name here but I'm law enforcement. What unreasonable things have Hiflychick and Tailwind W10 posted to earn scorn by the way? Please be specific, links would be helpful.

Where do you get the idea that I have scorn for those who post under a made up name?

My comment about using ones real name is if they make statements that are libelous they at least are willing to do so using their real name.

Is there some reason one must use a made up name on the internet that I am unaware of?

List the reasons you are aware of and maybe someone will tell you if you missed any. I have to go.

I always have found that forums slow right down in the summer months. Folks out flying and living life, soon the snow will start flying and more time will be spent inside and online.

Honestly I have been going full out with my new gig and life in general.

Yes there are times I think I should just pull the plug and not be bothered with this internet thing.

Threads going sideways, nasty emails from people trying to sell their airplanes on my other site Aircraftbuyandsell.ca asking why there plane hasn't sold? or they have not got any calls....

Sorry not up to me chief, your airplane has 300 views I can't make someone buy it. But hey feel free to vent to the guy providing a free site trying to help you out.

You're welcome!

Back on track, Reno is coming up whos going?
