It’s not so bad if you’re into that sort of thing. Once it settles into being ungodly cold the air is dry and crisp and weather just sort of stops happening. Temperature doesn’t even make the top three worst things about that area.
Houses are relatively cheap and a job at a well established school ought to be pretty secure. The real trick is if you plan to stay you need to live outside the city. Kakabeka Falls, Murillo, Rosslyn, that farmland to the south whatever it’s called, etc.

Things I don’t miss from YTH and YSF…
Fast forward 10 ish years, and I’m back in the stupid cold of Fairbanks -40.
It was the third time in a week the stupid janitrol heater had failed in the ‘ho and maybe taking a 50% pay cut (but staying warm) in an RJ isn’t such a bad idea.
2 weeks later I was in Indiana learning the EJet.

I don't want a pickle. I just want to ride on my motor-sickle. Instead of a snow plow.
I toughed the horrible wx out for years. Now I just want to live someplace that's 70F and sunny every day, and isn't ruled by a Marxist.
