Ah my fav, wet starts, These guys all did the right thing. I know there are lots of pilots out there that would just abandon and let it burn to the ground.
The beaver had a weird problem. They would develop a fuel tank leak from ham fisted people dropping things like 45 gal barrels on the floor. Combine that with a wet start and you had a real fire. I know of several beavers that met their waterloo because of this. Saw one myself but we saved the old girl.

KEEP CRANKING
When you're on fire, try to kill the battery and the starter. You're
already burning the airplane down, so why not? Hit the pace car.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry when someone on fire says
they have to stop cranking after X seconds because their stupid
fucking checklist says so.
Sigh.
I'm not a very good pilot, so it's mixture off, throttle open and
crank it until the prop stops. Then casually step outside and go
get some sticks and marshmallows.
