I never thought of teaching bears to do it.

Very resourceful!

Do they get scared and run away after the engine starts running?

Back in he Yukon my BN2 starter packed it in on the left engine the one right close to the pilots door.

This happened about 12 hours into the 50 hour inspection cycle. So for the next 38 hours of fuel hauls I would hand bomb the O-540, crawl in the back, fly to the camp, shut down the right, leave the left running crawl over the drums to the back door, kick the drums out. Crawl back in fire up the right and depart.

When fuelling back in Mayo I would shut down the left. My thinking was at least if I can’t get it going I would rather be in Mayo than middle of nowhere. Which was probably a place the Mtc guy couldn’t get into.

Was tons of fun when your 20.
