Getting more demanding all the time.

Was surfing through the employment adds over on the other site and came across this requirement for a Beaver pilot.
•  Making regular checks on the aircraft's technical performance, position, weather conditions and air traffic during flight
When will they require that a pilot can demonstrate they can wipe their own ass after a shit?

What degree should I pursue to learn these skills?

What exactly does "making checks on the aircraft's technical performance"  actually mean?

My guess would be writing down temps and pressures as part of a trend monitoring program.

Sounds like the ad was written by some HR person who doesn't know the first thing about operating an aircraft.

The add is from Harbor Air, I guess the bigger they get the more innovative with words they get.

Just imagine the inner stress an experienced pilot who actually knows how to fly safe would be under trying to second guess these HR morons.

Even the description Human Resources is elitist, like they look at people as " stuff " you dig out of the ground.

Maybe they got Jay Dilley working for them, now that HawkAir is gone.

It is to simple to just say looking for a pilot.  And between unions and HR department people justifying their jobs, you get these kind of ads.

Its not the worst thing we see today in written words...women now have Femtors, not mentors!  Prime Minister Gaylord announced $65 million of the Canadian taxpayers money will be spent on "women issues".
I think people should be getting more riled up about those issues than the fact some Idgit in the People Department did not have the common sense to just say ..pilot wanted...

I think most pilots can see past it and ignore the crap.

How can you ignore their HR interviews where they have all those weird ideas on personality traits and the rest of their weird questions?

Old Age.  For the most part, I got away from such interviews during the age of common sense.

Maybe there probably are some legitimate reasons for asking " tell us  of a time you wanted to be an animal" or similar, but the silliness has filtered down to the smallest of HR departments. After all, if the red and teal folks ask such questions, we at northern small air should do as well. Makes us look professional. Do they really tell them anything other than a person's tolerance level to handle stupid questions?  I don't know.

So much different than overseas interviews...very different.
