The impression I get from Staff instruction is very confusing. I called TC hq and is damn hard to get a live person on the phone.


Do you guys know if STC is needed for a clamp on camera installation? Camera is movie type 5 lbs in the aerodynamic pod. No mods to the plane just a clamp to the strut.

External mount?  Yes, paper is required.  Might be
easier to get a flight permit.

Funny that TC has no resources to answer your
request to ask how to comply with regulations,
but if you go ahead and do it without their
involvement they will spend hundreds of thousands
of dollars in lawyers and years and years and years
chasing you.

What odd distribution of resources.  Oh well, not
all of us have the extremely high level of intelligence
required for government employment.
