Sorry, I'm with him on Airports. I spend a lot of time travelling all over the world (100K for many years) and Asia's airports are by far the best from a passenger's perspective. Shiny, new, modern etc. There is simply *no* comparison to anything in North America or Europe that I have seen but I admit I have not seem them all.
However this past year I have been to Heathrow (twice), Frankfurt(3 times), Geneva(twice), Charles de Gaule(twice), Beijing (3), Shanghai(2), Hong Kong(2), Singapore(1), and of course Chicago, JFK, Newark, Atlanta, SFO, etc... IMHO the best by far are Shenzhen and Beijing. (Try google Shenzhen Airport images).
So from my limited sampling he is 100% right on this particular topic.
They have many problems in Asia but good new infrastructure is not one of them
