Ohh yeah ...the bird losses, ... right. Wonder how the movie makers will handle that ... when it comes around for some focus on the birds themselves, their intentions etc (as birds are smart navigators) in hearing already they converged from the right (he's left seat), according to pax accounts in right side seats quoted in 'Miracle on the Hudson'. Never speculated how fast though, what speed difference at impact .. if they caught up to this flock similarly heading south ? Some southbound flocks move 20kts plus .. so imagine it makes a little difference what direction (for speed of convergence).
A movie starts at the very beginning so the strike is a ways into it, so might be interesting visual esp for pilots to see this scene in recreated CAVU (birds out in nice weather). My guess is blinded by afternoon sun ...
