Is this still a thing at the majors? Like are people educated enough to be flying planes but uneducated enough to think that the opposite gender shouldn't?

You don't have to be that educated to fly airplanes. Its one of the few careers you could make a go of it as a high school drop out.

I really find it odd when I come across a social media post from some airline titled “first all female crew” like it’s not a big deal anymore. Maybe in 1980 but now? Seriously it’s not a big deal

Or when that lady retired from Air Canada a few years ago and every media outlet called her the first female Commercial Pilot. Which is complete bullshit, plenty of ladies flying for hire well before her but hey first at AC because they only hire the best of the best of the best right. Only they know where to stash the best porn in the Flight deck.

I’m pretty sure there were female pilots before World War One.

When people ask me why there aren’t more female airline pilots, I reply, “It’s because women are smarter than men”

Not going to lie here guys…I wasn’t trying to spark a philosophical / gender issues debate. I just liked the picture and needed a thread title under which to post it…obviously my judgement has not improved with age.
