Maybe they can stall this off long enough until some second hand F35s become available. You know, in another 20 years.

Of course they did, a company in Quebec needed money and this time around our government decided they wanted something to show for it.

I maintain Bombardier should get a license to build the as-originally-designed, more powerful Ching Kuo F-CKs. We’d have new fighters in a week.

They have two engines, were apparently designed to be super cruise capable, seem like they schlep around a good bit of external stores AND they have that name. Imagine if we decide to stay out of some foreign dust-up, the headlines will say “Canada doesn’t give a flying F-CK in the ongoing conflict in __________.”

Oh, and looking like a strange cross between an F-16 and F-17 (look it up) this thing seems like the kind of unlicensed mash-up that G.I. Joe would have flown in the eighties.

I guess that’s not a bad second choice if they can’t make Diemert Defenders like they should.

So glad to read that Survivability in combat is based upon whether Bob and Doug McKenzie have a job in Trois Rivers, QC.

The CanFor boys and girls to a hell of a job, for the shit they’re given to play with.

Who can forget:
From 1983 onward attempts were made to replace the aging Sikorsky CH-124 Sea King helicopters used on the warships of the Canadian Armed Forces.

The last Sea Kings were finally retired in 2018.
THIRTY FIVE years to replace a helicopter.

I know Stephen Harper is probably the most hated man in Canada,
but how long did he take, to procure the C-17?

I still remember the squealing and protests from the socialists and the bureaucrats.

Canada doesn't need a good airplane like that, right?

Keep hating on Stephen Harper, Canada. Signal your virtue.

This shouldn't be surpassing at all, it took 11 years to finally decide on the CC-295, and the minute they decided the Italian aerospace company Leonardo (the company e didn't pick) files a lawsuite against the Canadian government for the decision being unfair.....

And what do we do about that? Well we offer them a 1.5 billion dollar program to upgrade our obsolete fleet of comorant SAR choppers, even though Sikorsky on their own accord offered the RCAF and completely new fleet of choppers, with a maintenance program and training for cheaper.

Also part of this plan was to use old Presidential choppers we bought from the US back in 2011, 7 of the 9 being airwoworthy for parts.

If there is a way of doing it wrong they will find it.

I’m thinking of a shirt, that says C17 taking you to best destination for 20 years and maybe one for the C130.
I saw one similar. But I can do it better
