Do I wanna ferry planes?

So these days I have lots of free time and for the first time in a long time I don’t have to turn down cool opportunities because of work responsibilities. I was thinking ferrying interesting planes could be fun. Nothing too complex and keeping it all in continental North America. Not as a sole source of income or anything, mostly for the adventure and change of scenery.

I don’t know if anything will really come of it but I figure I may as well know what I’m getting myself into before any opportunities come up. What do y’all think, is it fun or just a big hassle?

My thoughts is more of a hassle than reward. The longer and more planes I’ve acquired over the last few years (more importantly didn’t acquire) there are a lot POS’s out there. My concern would be a dead mag halfway through the trip or a blown vacuum pump.
I don’t know if the agreements between ferry pilots when mx issues pop up. But I suppose if you have the logbooks, that makes great payment insurance... 😛

Pilots and airplanes owners are cheap bastards.

I would have a pretty clear contract drafted up regarding what your pay is, Just think if you have to divert to Rubber Boot Saskatchewan with a broken plane. What can you do to get it fixed or how you're getting home.
