Entertaining to say the least to see the champion of trivial posting have a melt down because someone challenged his credentials. Damn if you are going to offer up material one needs to be able to handle other opinions. That's life on the internet --

I've never understood the whole point of credentials, to be honest.

Yeah, they look nice on the wall, but I've never met an aircraft that could read.

Have other people encountered aircraft that can read your credentials, and fly
differently depending upon whether you have a PPL or ATPL, or your medical
expired yesterday? Inquiring minds want to know.

Pretty much sums it up. Look at the university degree stuff. Is your opinion more valid because of your degree in a different subject. PPL or ATPL, I bet there are some aerobatic PPL's that know way more than ATPL's. Credentials? Not too bright if you base an opinion of an opinion-maker on them.

What gets me the most and I think we are getting into generational issues but the sense of entitlement is over powering. Being a boomer I guess it's all my generation's fault for creating the situation, that's what I have been told. Most today are not willing to take responsibility for their actions. I can remember making a decision one time that, while, not unsafe it did require me to drop back to the back door escape. I then had to meet with the chief pilot. I walked into his office and before he could say anything I simply stated, "yes I fucked up" and "lesson learned" and "it won't happen again" and I His reply, "all I wanted to hear, now get the fuck out of my office and back to work".

I spent a few years myself behind that desk and saw the shift to it's not my fault, the company is to blame.

Back when I started flying you could always tell the rookie, Holes in his pants, shaggy hair, old plaid shirt and bush boots with the laces undone. Today they are the cleanest best dressed dudes in the room, with attitudes to match -- LMFAOOOOoooo
