1929 Pietenpol Aircamper

Flew a very early and original Pietenpol Aircamper last Sunday
Powered by a 1929 Ford Model A engine
She flew at a very respectable 70 mph at 1900 rpm
Original 1918 Curtiss Jenny wheels, no brakes , all instruments were original WW 1, very light on the controls , tuned on a dime
Comparable to the 1935 Taylor E2 Cub that I get to fly except the the e2 only does about 55 mph
I really enjoyed this little airplane , very nostalgic and very interesting to fly
Big radiator up front so very limited forward visibility
Look out to the left and you got warm exhaust air , look out to the right and you got nice cool 70 mph air
Not a bad way to to mark the 20th aircraft type I am now checked out in

Here is a clip of my take off
Not too exciting but it gives one a good idea of how a Model A sounds in flight

That's pretty neat. How on earth does one get into the front seat?

LOL  with a lot of twisting and turning
Its not for anyone with limited flexibility
To get into the rear seat one must swing a leg over the fuselage and into the cockpit
Very WW 1 ish ....very cool

Sorry again it looks like flickr changes the URL after you visit it, you know its all about collecting the info. This is not my flickr account.

Lets try this:

If you go page 2 you will find C-FXME. I think it's not yours, still the nice plane. I can't find the reg in the TC directory.
