This is one of my favourite airplanes, I used to work for a guy in Toronto in 1954 who owned a Globe Swift and I just loved flying with him in the thing.
That was the airplane that I learned how to do good wheel landings on.
Any of you people flown one, and did you like it?

I admired one at AirVenture when we went. It was one of my favorites too, and there was a lot of great stuff there.

If anyone is looking for a bone-stock example, I think I know
where there might be one.
IIRC it has a C-85 and a weird constant-speed prop that holds
one RPM. Flown by a little old man on Sundays who had it for
decades and told me to only wheel land it.

I remember Roy LoPresti went to town with it. Gorgeous.
Shiny Side Up told me I should tell you about the poor neglected L-29 somewhat near Highriver but I failed that mission. I don't think it's much interest, you seem a bit busy to be taking that one on. You would probably rather have one ready to fly and I can't blame you.

All I need is two clapped-out L29's and a Hawker 125 and a shitload of time
and I could make a really nice airshow team.
Say "hi" to Shiny, tell him all is forgiven, and show him the pictures of the
Smith & Wesson revolvers. He eats that single-action shit with a spoon.

I’ve never flown a Swift but I bet I would really like it. Some day...

There are a gazillion different engine choices.
Last one I saw had a 210hp TCM-IO360 6 cylinder. Heard of
a 220hp Franklin, never saw it in person.

Will do, I think that L-29 he mentioned will need to just stay where it is since this one has an annual.
