Does the Citation family share a common type rating like the Dash 8 and the 757/767?  If they don't, how difficult would it be for a qualified FO on an M2 to transition to a larger model Citation?  (i.e. Is there a lot of systems commonality between the variants?)

Citation type ratings can get really confusing.

Only Citation I have flown is the Cessna Citation Sovereign C680


The new Sovereign + is a differences course from the regular C680 and just for fun the new Citation Latitude is a C680A
and its another differences course if I was to "convert"


The other small tube citations ill let someone else speak for, I like to stand up while I pee in APU Heated/Cooled comfort.

I have 3 different Citation type Ratings (c550, c560 and c56x) and although the airplanes are extremely similar, they are all separate ratings.  The 550 and 560 can be grouped for 604 flying and in 704 if you have 24 month ppcs but feel like doing a ride every year.  The 560 has several variants....V, V Ultra and V Encore that can be flown with differences training, however the new CJ’s all have newer TR designations...c525 etc.  Although it is not a difficult transition from say a Citation II (c550) to the Excel (C56x), there is no credit for time served.

Down in the states on the older Lears your type rating was just LR-Jet and you could fly all the Lear 20 series,  31/35/36 and the 55
I have sat in everyone of those and although very similarish here in Canada those are all individual types except the Lear 35/36. However if you did your ride on a 35 you would need to ask TC to put the extra 36 on there.

Faa does the same with citations....c500, 501, 550, and 550 Sii are all considered c500

If it caters to the foot photography crowd, chances are, I haven't been there.  :D
