True enough. Maybe a better troll direction would have been.

I think a lot of people have made the transition to thinking GPS is 100% flawless.
I certainly have to admit, it's pretty close. This very rare possibility is why I really like to try to know where I am, instead of letting the navigation aids completly replace me as primary navigator.
In reality I have not gone very far from the airport for years now. I keep bringing a current chart but have not needed to draw any lines on it or timed my progress going to and from "practice areas." Even when I had the chance to fly around Hawaii and the LA area, I was not really navigating.

Another reason to keep NDB's and VOR's around, is when the aircraft equipment fails.
Frequently the MEL will have a line that you can defer and depart as long as alternate navaids are useable for enroute/approach.
