I simply hate flying

I need to fly, as a pax once in a while to be reminded just how it sucks. Airports, crowds of people, over crowded aircraft and air conditioning systems that won't handle a hot day. For an added bonus sitting across the isle from a guy who blew his nose, rather loudly continuously between YYZ and YQT, lie 5 times a minute, - I hope his fucking nose falls off -- geeeezzzzus -- road trips in my RS are much better - drive until the urge leaves, stop and find beer and wings -- I wouldn't pay full fare to go anywhere. I guess I'm just a grumpy old man. That doesn't change the fact that subjecting yourself to the roll of a paying passenger really is a hateful thing.

Every time I travel as a passenger I question why I even want to be a cog in this infernal machine.

I was lucky enough to fly overseas many times, when economy in a DC 8 or a 10 was like
business or some first class today, food was served on china with a complementary
1/2 bottle of wine by an FA that looked as delicious as the meal ;)

Airline flying has become a nightmare from being groped in the terminal safety farce to sitting in a space so small you are in pain.

Flying by airlines used to be a very pleasant experience.

I have considered taking a boat somewhere to remind myself how good we have it with the ease of air travel. I'm worried it will make it worse.

Traveling by ship is quite expensive too.

The continued devolution of the human race makes the germ tube a worse ride nearly every time.

Oh the security bull shit pisses me off, coming out to YYJ with the family I made the agregeous violation of placing two iPads on top of each other in the diaper bag.

I could see the monitor and on the side view both of them stacked and the top profile them slightly apart. So as Mrs Scudrunner is wrangling a toddler, I get to stand and have some 15 buck an hour monkey tell me that I cant stack two IPad together.

Oh and pro tip don't use logic and ask the peon "if you know they are two iPads stacked together then why are we standing here" he may want to take a closer look at those diapers for ISIS related material.

But thanks I feel so much safer.

Oh ya if I hear the phrase "guests" again I'm liable to go postal - I think the word "Subs" would be better, just need to figure out an appropriate "safety" word now - I'll get back to you on that one

The safe word is "bomb." They seem to shut it down pretty quick when you yell it.

At least it's easier to remember than that one time in Europe...

Shiny,

Having spent a week hanging out at FLETC, Federal Law Enforcement Traing Center (basically boot camp for CBP and a bunch of other agencies), 90% of candidates are Hispanic.

What exactly is your logic with Hispanic border agents?

Back on topic:

I love people watching, airports being the best.  People are so stressed out for little or no reason.
As for comfort factor, my airline takes the cake...  we're the Ryan Air of The US.  We make a shitload of money doing it.  As an employee and stock holder, I'm happy with their product.
