Mojave Experimental fly in.

How do they keep this event from getting too big? Is the west coast and Cali just not a place where EAA guys live and gather?
It is only four hours long and non commercial. Seems to me like there would be a big thing like AirVenture in or very near California maybe in Arizona or Nevada. I guess Arlington does the trick.
It would be pretty cool to go to this I think, just landing at the space port would be a bit interesting. I wonder if JPL avoids it? There must be some cool stuff on their ramp sometimes even if you can't just stroll on over for a lookie-lou. I have crossed paths with the two guys involved with the supercharged Harmon Rocket. They are popular around my circle of pilot acquaintances.
