LOW LEVEL AEROBATICS

All my aerobatics are of the "arm chair" variety - above a couple thousand feet and ball in the center.  The link will take you to a video shot from inside the cockpit during a routine flown by a good friend of mine, Bud Granley.  He's flying a YAK 55 - a Russian aircraft designed specifically to do aerobatics.  Bud let me ferry it last summer - it's not comfortable, it flies nose high in cruise, and goes woefully slow (compared to my personal aircraft).  (;>0)

Whoo hoo!  You don't get that good in a year.

You have to admire the old guys that still push
the negative G (though I suspect the jealous
haters here will not).

Another of Bud's stable of airshow aircraft.  In model form 1:48 scale.  His signature show opener in this aircraft is a dirty roll on take-off

Thanks John.  If the gold paint looks familiar , it is from the original pigment in 1958..same as the Hawks and Centennaires.
