So, with the grey out of the pilot cadre, how long until places offer direct entry captain (like Encore did in YYZ)?

Encore still does, but some people going there are realizing it's not quite as good as they were told.

Combined with the certification of mainline, could be tough times crewing there in the near future.

Rumor has it that Sky Regional is offering Direct Entry Captains to anyone with 705 time PIC or SIC.

Its funny as a friend of mine with tons of Corporate jet time, two crew etc operating into big and small airports all over North America, Central America, Caribbean put in a resume and was told no to direct entry. But then heard they took a guy with 2500 hours with 500 hours flying a dash 8  SIC in Manitoba direct entry.....

Had to scratch my head over that one, I guess corporate flying doesn't get the respect it deserves.

No shit.  Corporate is WAY more challenging than
driving a milk truck.

There is no comparison.

Corporate requires pilots who do not have to be led by the hand every flight.

And yes, I have flown corporate for one of the largest companies on earth.

I, too, liked corporate.  Fifteen years of it...

It wasn't great for family life, but I liked getting up in the morning with nothing on the books and by noon be in Boston, Mass or Boston Brook!

And you only go for a "day trip" once without an overnight bag.  Right, CE?

I made sure the ones I slept with were not bags.  :)
