Sounds like good news. Hope to see Buffalo back flying soon.

Anyone have a link to the accident involving a Transport Canada DC-3 where they managed to retract the gear on the ground? Location was Fort McMurray(?) and it was in the late 80's or early 90's.
A Transport Canada Beechcraft King Air A100, serial number B-112, with two pilots on board, departed from the Ottawa/McDonald-Cartier International Airport, Ontario, on a visual flight rules training flight. The aircraft proceeded to Ottawa/Gatineau Airport, Quebec, to conduct practice visual approaches and landings.

The landing gear was not lowered before landing, and the aft fuselage and both propellers contacted the runway surface. The captain initiated a successful go-around, declared an emergency, and subsequently landed the aircraft at Ottawa/McDonald-Cartier International Airport.
So instead of landing at Gatineau, after smashing the
aircraft gear-up onto the runway, the intrepid TC
Inspectors decided to embark on a cross-country
flight to CYOW, raining parts on populated downtown
Ottawa in the process.

Only by the grace of God did the severely damaged
aircraft not fail over the residential area that the TC
Inspectors intentionally chose to fly over, knowing
that the aircraft was not airworthy.

A prudent pilot would have immediately landed such
a severely damaged aircraft at Gatineau.

There is no clearer violation of CAR 602.01 that I
know of - except perhaps the time that Wayne Foy
decided to hand-prop a Champ by himself without
securing it.  Oddly, no charges were ever laid by
Enforcement.  How selective.

Or, perhaps the time that TC whacked the prop of
a 182 at CYSH, and flew a mechanic in with a new
prop in a helicopter.

TC lecturing about safety is like a 600 lb man giving
a speech about the merits of dieting.  Can you say
rhetoric?  I knew you could.

Haven't heard any news to say he is permanently toast.

If he is still paying all the employees it it is really costing him big time.
