So colonel, how do you defend the military boys in yzf that ejected from a perfectly good airplane, and then bombed the golf course in the same week?

Or any of the other screw ups?

News flash, there are good and bad pilots in both the military and civilian side.  Civilian stuff just gets a lot more publicity.

Sure glad it wasn't a 4-bars that wrecked that plane....

It also slips a littlebit when I hear them using "any conflicting traffic please advise" every 3 minutes.

Out of curiosity, what phrasing do you use?

to quote a famous cop "just the facts mam, just the facts"

I guess one needs to determine what a traffic advisory is actually for, to just hear yourself taking up bandwidth or establishing if there is actually traffic. If there is no traffic in the area why waist all that verbal diarrhea on empty space.

A good flight is when you can turn off the radio and not
listen to everyone blabbering away continuously.

Eric and I just flew 3000 miles across the USA, and 95%
of the time of it was on our own quiet freq.  Neither one
of us said jack shit.

I hate flight following.  Or IFR.  Same thing.  The radio
owns your ass.
