Costco has a decent deal down here for the headset.
I was sold on it because of a shooting simulation I played at a friends house. Super helpful to build and sharpen fundamentals.
Of course this is aviation themed...
What's is pretty impressive is the ability to simulate flying. I found a game for $15 (which is more than I wanted to pay, but that's neither here nor there). What is amazing I the ability to look around and see various things within the cockpit and outside.
Microsoft and x-plane flightsim has its limits in this regard, although the visuals are a million times better.
For me it's the ability to look around in a 360* environment and manipulate controls. (again, $14 for the experience using the provided hardware).
Today it's -15 Canadian outside and playing/flying isn't as fun. Instead of frost bite waiting for the oil to warm up @ 2-3gph, then 12+/hour this is much cheaper time burner.

Sweet, I was looking at X-Plane and their Hot Start Challenger CL650 program and it’s slick. Combining VR with that would be amazing training aid.
It’s getting closer to being really good I can’t wait to be playing a new Battlefield game ripping a little bird low level pwoning noobs.

I’m not a video game guy.
I was told to go outside and play, despite growing up in the Fraser Valley, where it rained 370 days a year.
I did buy a PS 2? (See I don’t even remember) in 2010. It got more miles as a dvd player than hours playing GTA.
I was the nerd getting a grad degree while I was deployed, not a gym rat or video game hero. Even with that, I’d find the end of YouTube during the copious amounts of down time.
Last night after the kiddo went to bed, I got motion sickness after 15 minutes of running around The Office’s office playing multiplayer games from the show.
It was great!

Grew up in the same area but I liked the PC games after awhile I modded them so I could destroy my friends in Lan Games. Its kind of weird I didn't go to silicon valley and make something of myself.

I don’t recognize what the green stuff that gorgeous 180 landed on.
Currently, ‘round these parts we have the pavement and brown.
I hear ya Col. You nerd out for a living. I only recently started to nerd out after seeing the possibilities of a shooting game.
I’ve expanded in to other frontiers. Like a 110” curved projection of YouTube videos.
Holy smokes. I picture myself as this guy in 2-3 months:

Ha. Wx channel says it’s horrible east of the Mississippi. I probably shouldn’t mention I rode a motorcycle to work Friday. Normally I just wear a t-shirt but it was cool so I wore a light jacket.
People here are strange. Temp drops below 60F briefly, they break out the Canada Goose jackets. I laugh so hard, I swallowed my chewing gum once.
I don’t even own boots or a winter jacket or a toque or a car or a truck or anything like that. I think my wife has an umbrella in the house somewhere. Never used it.
Last weekend installed an intercooler on the H2, should be good for 280hp or around 210-220 mph.

I've read several articles saying that the 2024 Microsoft flight simulator has a lot of problems and you have to be connected to the internet with a high speed connection to work. I own two previous versions of Microsoft flight simulator and they are not all that great programs,
