Apparently towed from the airport to this street to display for some event, then decided it would be quicker and easier to just fly back home. Oops.

I wonder what fell off just before the pitch change?

It was the light from the street light, you can see it falling in the top left of the frame.

Huh, I watched it several times and kept looking at the wrong spot every time. I think I was fixated on the left main wheel. Trying to see where on the plane it was coming from. Weird.

Here is some quick photo analysis for ya Dave,

After collision with the street light,

Note street light falling to ground with both wheels attached, I thought it was a wheel at first as well lol,

Fun fact: taking off from a road in a biplane and clipping a wire is probably my number one recurring nightmare.

As soon as read your post I watched the video and saw him hit the light. That’s why I’m so surprised I didn’t see it watching it before.

I have the nightmare where I somehow take off from a road and don’t hit anything but can’t climb out because there’s power lines over head. A bunch of guys wrote they had similar nightmares at AvCanada years ago.

I used to have that recurring dream/nightmare where I was flying under power lines.

What the hell that meant I have no idea.

I’ve dreamt of being under the wires plenty of times, but a few I’ve tried to escape which always ends poorly.
