a PBY will carry a two thousand pound over load with no real problem.

The problem is the manufacturer never tested them with any pilots over 250 pounds so they don’t have charts for the center of gravity. They do for the Decathlon but not Citabria.

No reason to blame the FTU they need to please the insurance providers.

Generally I’m pretty happy in a 172. Maybe one day I can get access to something like a Bearhawk Patrol or a Bird Dog.
