Scudrunners Aviation News – Pivot Airlines a new charter airline based out of Toronto says its Air Crew has been jailed in the Dominican Republic following discovery of 200Kg of Cocaine.

The crew discovered the stash of “Nose Candy” in a maintenance bay of their CRJ100 and immediately reported it to the local authorities and the company contacted the RCMP. The reports say the 200 kg of “California Corn Flakes” was stashed close to electrical components and could have caused a disaster if the flight had departed.

Pivot Airlines says the crew members are being held in communal cells with other accused drug criminals and don’t speak the local language. “We are deeply concerned for the safety, security and humane treatment of our crews. It is unacceptable that a Canadian aircrew could remain detained for the duration of a potential twelve month investigation for a suspected crime they reported” Pivot Airlines said in a press statement. Pivot Airlines is the rebirth of Air Georgian who up until their bankruptcy operated regional flights for Air Canada.

The Dominican authorities reported that it discovered the “Bolivian Marching Powder” in response to an “intelligence report and eventually found eight black gym bags packed with 200 bricks of cocaine” cough bullshit, bullshit.

I’m happy to be out of the private charter world. 90% of the people are fine.

The other 10% is a mix of people who think that being an asshole brought them riches or are entitled cunts with shit head children. I swear to god some made more of a mess in the back of the Jet than you’d find after a Waffle House brawl on a Saturday night.

Not to mention dealing with flight coordinators who can’t fathom you need to slip the rampy in some third world country 50 bucks to get the fuel truck and maybe just maybe we shouldn’t park the plane there overnight without guard.

Those guys would have been better off finding the stuff securing it and flying to YYZ and letting Canada Customs “find it” via an anonymous tip.
