What kind of landing do you end up with if you do a hard contact with the runway wheel landing a tail wheel airplane?

I believe the technical term for that is “crow-hop”. If it’s really bad it might turn into a “rodeo”.;)

I’ve seen it referred to as a ‘trounce’ but I kind of hate that word and I can’t quite put my finger on why.

That’s the tyres go “Yelp Yelp, Yeeeeeelp” as you bounce merrily down the runway :oops:

Probably because “trounce” is the the word most often describing what happens to the Maple Leafs.
